Herman Wayne Smith

FARMINGTON — Herman Wayne Smith, 89, a resident of the Highland Community, diedApril 11, 2011at Regency Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born May 14, 1921 in Wheeler, the son of Loy A. and Beulla Campbell Smith.

He was a Baptist and one of the last of the ìold timersî in the Highland Community.He graduated from Farmington High School and joined the Navy Sea Bees. After leaving the Navy he returned to raise cattle and chickens. He married Cleolla Taylor on May 8, 1947.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother and one sister, Lois Virginia Warren.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Cleolla Smith of the home; one brother-in-law, Cecil Taylor and his wife, Marcela of West Fork; one niece, Elise Wonnacott and her husband, Ed; and greatniece Sidney Wannacott.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14 at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville with Preston Beeks of ciating.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Russ and Sue Beck, Keith and Jonnie Belle Spinks and Craig Williams.

Mamie Ellen Sallee Williams

LINCOLN — Mamie Ellen Sallee Williams, 95, of Lincoln died April 8, 2011, at Prairie Grove Health and Rehab in Prairie Grove. She was born July 29, 1915, in Westville, Okla., to Jim and BeaJohnson Sallee. She attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Lincoln.

Survivors include two sons, Kerry Dale Williams of Ramona, Okla., and Elmer Williams of Lincoln; one daughter, Nelda Hacker of Lincoln; one sister, Lois Norvell of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; two greatgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral service was April 11 at the funeral home. Burial was in Beaty Cemetery in Lincoln.

James Lenord Shreve

LINCOLN — James Lenord Shreve, 81, died April 8, 2011, at his home near Lincoln. He was born July 31, 1929, in Farmington to Franklin Andrew and Fannie Lucinda Ralston Shreve.

Survivors include his wife, Hollene Louise Shreve; a son, Jimmy Shreve Jr. of Kansas, Okla.; six daughters, Marie Huffman of Lovington, N.M., Darlene Jordon of Clever, Mo., Sheryl Martinez of Phoenix, Kathy Vestal of Morrow, Barbara Grinder of Lincoln, and Marilou Shreve-Doffn of Bentonville; a sister; 20 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services were held April 11 at the Farmington Cemetery Pavilion in Farmington.

Arrangements were by Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove.

Lola Lavelle Watkins

SPRINGDALE — Lola Lavelle Watkins, 78, of Springdale, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville.

She was born on Feb. 3, 1933, in Nob Hill, a daughter of Jolly and Nellie Graham.

Lola worked in quality control for Allen Canning Co. and was a member of Church of Christ on Robinson Avenue in Springdale. She enjoyed shing and being in the outdoors and mostly loved being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Eugene Graham and Bud Graham.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Donald Ray Watkins; two sons, Jeff Watkins of PrairieGrove and Donald Glenn Watkins and wife, Jennifer, of Noel, Mo.; ve grandchildren, Shana, Sebastian, Landon, Jeff ery and Zachary; two great-grandchildren; ve brothers, Johnie Graham of Nob Hill, Cecil Graham, Paul Graham, Lawrence Graham and Joey Graham, all of Washington state; two sisters, Roberta Sizemore of Nob Hill, and Joyce Patterson of Anderson, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.

Services were held April 8 at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Minister Harry Fitzgerald of ciating the service; committal service followed at Shady Grove Cemetery.

Sherry Lynn Laughlin-Wells

PRAIRIE GROVE — Sherry Lynn Laughlin-Wells, 54, of Prairie Grove, died April 6, 2011, in Prairie Grove. She was born Aug. 2, 1956, in Rogers to Darrell and Virginia Sue Laughlin.

She is survived by her mother, Sue Doyle of Fort Smith; son, Jason Machen and wife, Courtney of Dixon, Mo.; sisters, Karen Westfall of Springdale and Debbie Harrison of Ozark, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 11 at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Pastor Greg Ford of ciating.

PRAIRIE GROVE — Earl Floyd "Bud" Thacker, 67, of Prairie Grove died April 1, 2011, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born Nov. 9, 1943, in Beaumont, Texas, to Clous Earl and Mary Virginia Woodard Thacker.

Survivors include one daughter, Kelly Moog and husband, Richard, of the home; and six grandchildren.

Services were held April 11 at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville.
