PRAIRIE GROVE -- Prairie Grove All Sports Booster Club needs community volunteers.

According to a notice posted on their website, the club promises to not just stick volunteers in a concession stand all night unless that happens to be their favorite place. The club can use help in many areas and also invites community ideas for ways to better support Prairie Grove athletes. Community members are always welcome at club meetings.

Chief among volunteer opportunities this week, workers are needed for the Black and Gold game intra-squad scrimmage on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The club is looking for parking lot attendants to guide reserved ticket holders to their parking spot; ushers to help reserved ticket holders find their spot in the stands; helpers at the gate to check reserved ticket holders' passes; and spotters to help the auctioneer sell home-made pies as a fund-raiser.

According to the club, none of these jobs will take up a volunteer's whole night just a few minutes to help everything run smoothly. Those wishing to volunteer may sign up by going to the club website at pgboosterclub.com and filling out a contact form.

T-shirt orders for 'Battle of 62' season-opener against Farmington on Sept. 5 are due by Aug. 26. Order forms can be picked up in the high school office or downloaded from the club website. Shirts will be ready for pick-up Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. at the high school prior to the September Booster Club meeting. They will also be available for pick-up during lunch on Sept. 4 at the high school.

The club recently announced more information for reserved ticket holders. Prairie Grove reserved tickets can now be used as a season pass to Monday night junior varsity/eighth-grade games and Thursday night seventh-grade and junior high games. However, reserved ticket holders to varsity games should note: the booster club will not be monitoring reserved seats nor parking lot for non-varsity games although reserved ticket holders may gain admission with their passes. The only games that the parking pass or reserved seat will be in effect is Friday night games. Those with questions may contact club president Doug Smith at 479-790-2437.
