Holiday Weather Perfect

"Tis the Season" coming up fast -- a reminder today upon the arrival of the first Christmas card of the year. Plans were to have more done by now, but "best laid plans."

Holiday weather was perfect and there were many family gatherings for Thanksgiving, so much to be thankful for.

There were 36 present at Johnny and Anna Cheatham's home for the huge noon spread, eating and more eating, visiting and music. Welcomed first time visitors were Danny and Judy McManus from Fordyce, Ark., and Jeremy and Amy McManus, Brittany, Hunter (Brittany is a regular visitor) from Farmington. Others coming from outside the northwest Arkansas area were Caleb and Lisa Rawls, Regan and Reese from Dallas, Texas; Dean and Misty Cheatham, Derek, Hudson, Kate, from Van Buren; and Chris and Megan Luttrell and Westin from Lakeview. Plans also were made for a Christmas get-together while all were present.

Tuesday morning, the weather wasn't so favorable, probably the reason fewer than usual were at the Lincoln Senior Center. Kitchen Band did meet with their music and fun, including Jack Thompson's version of "All I want for Christmas." The ladies also were busy with the Center's annual Christmas bazaar

Some season humor - Holiday mail

An elderly lady went into a post office to buy stamps for Christmas cards. The clerk asked her what denomination she wanted. "She said, "Ok, good heavens! Have we come to that? Well, then give me 50 Catholics and 50 Baptists."

Point to ponder:

"We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some pretty, some dull, some have weird names, and all different colors, but they all live in the same box"

Happy Birthday to Hannah Pitts, Melissa Hutchens, David Latta, Westin Roy, Christine Albright, Payton Myers, Denise Moore, Chad Chambliss.

Happy years all.
