Thankful For Rain

After about eight days of constant moisture, from fog and sprinkles to an inch of rain, the sun came out Tuesday, bright enough to hurt the eyes after all those dreary days; and we were thankful for every drop of rain that had fallen.

Finally, they have received some rain in California, from 2 to 8 inches and more is predicted.

"Friends are angels in disguise," and two of them came all the way out to my home and brought a big platter of food from the annual Thanksgiving-Christmas dinner in the Sugar Hill Church, Sunday.

Monday, another called to report on the Sunday events, especially on the afternoon music session, which is always so enjoyable. Thanks, friends.

Now some humor -- Believable

Three boys were talking one day, when one of the boys said, "My dad is way faster than any of yours. He can throw a 90-mile an hour fast ball from the pitcher's mound and run and catch it just after it crosses home plate."

"Oh yeah!" said another boy. "Well, my dad can shoot an arrow from his bow and run to the target and hold it up to make sure the arrow hits the bull's eye."

"Your dads don't even come close to being as fast as mine," said a third boy. "My dad works for the government, and even though he works every day until 4:00, he gets home at 3:30."
