We wanted to catch everyone up on the latest news at the Lincoln Public Library.

We had our last day for the Summer Reading program on July 17. On Aug. 1 will be the last day for Teen Summer Reading program. Teens must sign up for this class as space is limited. This class is at 3-5 p.m. for fifth grades and up.

We hosted a "75th Bat Man Anniversary Day" on July 17 at the library. We showed Bat Man movies all day long. We had cartoons for the little ones in the small conference and Bat Man movies for adults in the large conference room.

Also, if anyone loves history -- especially local history, in August we are planning on celebrating Lincoln history all month. There are so many interesting facts and stories about Lincoln and our local areas that need to be shared. If anyone has old pictures that we could make copies of, stories to share or anything any of you would like to donate to the library, we would love to have them. We will be looking for local artists who would like to show their work on "local artist day." Call 824-3294 if you are interested in showing work or would like to talk about your craft.

We also will have several books available for everyone to purchase on the History of Lincoln at various prices too.

I think this will be very interesting, so come by in the month of August and see what we have come up with.

As always, come by and check us out.
