A 16-year-old Prairie Grove boy stole a 2013 Jeep Wrangler from a driveway early Sunday morning and went "joyriding" before he was stopped by police, said Capt. Jeff O'Brien with Prairie Grove Police Department.
O'Brien said the department received a call about the stolen Jeep at 1 a.m., Sunday. The owner was visiting someone and the Jeep was parked in a driveway off Park Street with the keys in it. About the same time, O'Brien said, the department received an anonymous call about a Jeep racing up and down the streets in Sundowner Subdivision.
The juvenile was stopped by police and is facing charges of driving without a driver's license, driving under the influence, theft of motor vehicle, violation of curfew and minor in possession of alcohol, O'Brien said. The youth was taken to Washington County Detention Center.
