Hee-Haw style fundraiser set to benefit seniors

The last Wednesday in March was another busy day in the Senior Center -- the Jam Session in the morning, followed by a visit by Cheryl Ridgeway Wu, a registered nurse from Health South Hospital in Fayetteville, who checked blood pressure, answered questions and gave out literature on prevention of strokes. That afternoon was Bingo time!

Coming up, two important events in Lincoln on Saturday, April 11. A Hee-Haw Show is planned in The Senior Center on April 11 at 6 p.m. for Meals on Wheels, an all local talent show reported to be fun! Tickets are $10 with dinner provided.

Also April 11 at 6 p.m., a benefit to help defray medical expenses for Johnny Loftin will be held in the Lincoln Gymnasium -- chili supper, pie auction and good fellowship! Donated desserts would be appreciated.

These are both good causes, and since one can't be in two places at once, a suggestion, attend one and donate generously to the other!

The pre-Easter dinner in The Sugar Hill Church was well attended. Following the morning service, a real Arkansas potluck meal was enjoyed. Then while Pastor Rick gathered the children in the Sunday school room and talked to them about the Crucifixion and Resurrection, parents hid hundreds of eggs. Running out of hiding places, they just poured them out on the ground. Meanwhile six musicians entertained for a couple of hours.

A little humor on "Marriage."

"How do you live with one woman for 50 years?," a man asked another man who had just celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary.

"Oh, that is easy," replied the married man. "On our 25th anniversary, I took her to Hawaii and for our 50th I went and got her."

Happy birthday to Ken Power, Janet Harper, Lynwood Holloway, Claud Bess, Dale Bailey, Donald Mounce, Emily Pitts, Jamie Bess, Caleb Bailey and Keldon Bennett.

Happy anniversary to Eugene and Elaine Olszewski, David and Sherry Mark, Keith and Dawn Myers.

Happy years all!
