Crepe Myrtles Display Colorful Show

I wonder if this might be "The year of the Crepe Myrtles." Never before have I realized there were so many over this area. They have put on quite a show to be appreciated. All colors from white to deepest lavender and rose.

Hopefully, everyone has kept their hydrangeas watered during the recent day spell. It is claimed that during August, they put on the growth for next year's blooms, so they need plenty of water for that growth. Some hydrangeas didn't bloom as full as usual this year because of the unusual cold spells.

I have one that, instead of the usual round "ball" of blooms, it is almost flat, with the center full of tiny buds, surrounded by a border of little 4-petal blooms like the old time ones. It is bright blue, with the little buds later turning to tiny balls (seeds?) and the blooms turning pink. It is beautiful and interesting -- a gift I really enjoy.

"About Flowers"

A man and his wife were attending a marriage counseling session and the husband was asked, "What is your wife's favorite flower?"

Turning to his wife, he said "It is Pillsbury, isn't it honey?"

Tuesday evening "remembering" at the library was just that, with the many school albums and old pictures to enjoy. For some reason, it turned into a session of each sharing their teenage antics, some surprise there! But so much fun for the 10 who were present.

Happy birthday to: Bob Bush, Caitlyn Vanatta, George Schooler, Troy Bradley, Brooklyn Roy, Aiden Barbosa and Alexa Barbosa (twins), Cambree Caudle and Toryn Caudle (twins), Rebecca Pitts, Vera Dunnagan, Jimmy Huffaker, Margaret Mayhue, Susie Reed.

Happy anniversary to Larry and Betty Bell, and Ramon and Felicia Ramirez.

Happy years, all!
