Last Tuesday, Farmington showcased their 2015 varsity and junior high teams with scrimmages in the annual Red and White game at Allen Holland Field. With the squad split brothers, Brice and Trey Waggle quarterbacked against each other with Trey, a sophomore, pulling off a bit of an upset with his team winning by six after Brice had a pass tipped and intercepted on the opening possession.

Farmington coach Mike Adams designed the scrimmage to benefit the offenses and didn't play anything but a base defense.

"We put our defense in a really bad situation. We didn't let them read keys or play technique," Adams said. "The scrimmage was designed for offensive success and that's what we got. We ran a bunch of plays in about 30 minutes."

On Thursday, Prairie Grove took the field for the Tigers' Black and Gold game intrasquad scrimmage. Coach Danny Abshier saw some good things but was looking for areas to improve the Tigers.

"I'm a fix-it guy," Abshier said. "What we're looking for is what I need to do to get better. I like the versatility of our offense. We need to work on decision-making, whether that's with the coaches or with players on which way to cut."

Sam Dodd quarterbacked the black squad to a 30-6 win over the white squad, punctuating the victory with an interception return for a defensive touchdown on the last play.

Lincoln has a new head football coach in Don Harrison, who has generated a buzz in the community about Wolves' football. Lincoln fans got their first public view of the program, which also has new assistant coaches, on Friday during Meet the Wolves. Among those introduced were the coaching staff with new faces. Harrison, head coach; Tyler Dorton, offensive coordinator; Justin Bounds, special teams coordinator; Austin Lewis, defensive line; Beau Collins, defensive coordinator; Cody Forga, offensive line; and Perry Philpot, runningbacks. Stan Karber has also joined the staff as Strength & Conditioning coach. The border rivalry with Westville, Okla. is renewed after a one-year hiatus. In 2014 the Wolves participated in Hooten's Kickoff Classic at Reynold's Razorback Stadium. They should be highly competitive against Westville as they aim to start the season with a victory.
