PRAIRIE GROVE -- The baseball program at Prairie Grove will have a new view from the dugout for the 2015-2016 school year with the hiring of Chris Mileham in June.

Mileham was hired to take over the program after former coach Mitch Cameron resigned in May to become head coach at Rogers Heritage. Mileham inherits a solid program with plenty of potential. The young Tigers finished third in the 4A-1 regular season standings in the spring and replicated that placement at district to qualify for Regionals. The Tigers knocked off No. 2 seed Clinton during the Regional tournament and nearly upset No. 1 Pea Ridge in the semifinal. Prairie Grove defeated Shiloh Christian for third place and advanced to the state tournament, an achievement Mileham may be eyeing.

Only two players graduated from a squad that will be more experienced with pitching ace Logan Gragg among those returning. Mileham comes in with a reputation as an outstanding batting instructor, teaching the mechanics of the swing and a mental approach to batting situations. Mileham has been a hitting coach with the Wichita Wingnuts and head baseball coach at Discovery Canyon High School at Colorado Springs. Most recently he has coaching the Arkansas Express, an elite 18 and under summer baseball program in northwest Arkansas and an assistant baseball coach at Fayetteville High School.
