FARMINGTON -- Kendall Combs, a member of Boy Scout Troop 555 of Farmington, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

He received the highest award in the Boy Scout program in an Eagle ceremony held March 14 at the Farmington United Methodist Church.

Kendall, a senior at Farmington High School, started in the Boy Scout program as a Tiger Cub in 2003. In 2008, he earned the Arrow of Light and transitioned into Troop 555. On his journey to achieve Eagle Scout, he earned 35 merit badges.

As a member of Troop 555, Kendall has held a variety of troop positions, including Den Chief, Troop Guide, Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Troop Quartermaster, Scribe, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader.

Kendall has attended several camps including Trappers Rendezvous, Camp Orr, Camp Rockefeller, Camp Preston Hunt, and Camp Hale. His latest adventure was a seven-day hike in the wilderness of Philmont, N.M., in August 2014.

His favorite scouting activity has been caving and his favorite merit badge was Wilderness Survival. Hiking at Philmont was his most memorable experience.

For his Eagle project, Kendall built two benches for the Farmington Cemetery, located along Double Springs and Rheas Mill roads in Farmington. He had to finish his Eagle Project with a broken hip, showing amazing leadership skills.

Other than Scouting, Kendall is actively involved in the Farmington High Jazz Band and loves to play string instruments in his free time.

Kendall is the son of Bret and Gretta Combs of Farmington. He is planning on attending NorthWest Arkansas Community College in the fall.
