One of the most enthusiastic fans of the Prairie Grove Tigers was given a special job at Friday night's play-off game against Jonesboro Westside.

Raymond Montgomery is a graduate of Prairie Grove High School.

"He comes in once in a while and fires people up," Coach Danny Abshier said Monday night. Montgomery, who is diagnosed with Down syndrome, has helped with half-time speeches to motivate the team, he added.

For Friday night's game, Abshier invited Montgomery to go to the middle of the field for the coin toss to determine which team started on offense for the first half. The officials went further, Abshier said, and allowed Montgomery to toss the coin.

"He loves football and is every enthusiastic," Abshier said.
