For those who want recipes, I'm sharing one of my favorites. (Sorry about the omissions lately.)

Hawaiian Sunset Cake

Cake:

4 eggs

1/2 cup oil

1 1/2 cups milk

1 box orange supreme cake mix

1 (3 oz.) box instant vanilla pudding mix

1 (3 oz.) box orange gelatin mix

Filling:

1 15oz. can crushed pineapple, drained

12 oz. frozen coconut

8 oz. sour cream

Topping:

1 cup reserved filling mixture

8 oz non-dairy whipped topping.

Mix eggs, oil, milk, cake mix, pudding mix and gelatin mix together. Beat 3 minutes on medium speed. Pour into three 9-inch greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350° F for 30 minutes. Cool layers before adding filling and topping.

For filling, remove as much liquid as possible from pineapple. Mix pineapple, coconut and sour cream. Reserve one cup of mixture for topping. Spread filling between layers and on top of cake.

For topping, mix together the reserved cup of filling mixture and whipped topping. Spread on sides and top of cake.

This is good for big gatherings, and another reason I like it, I don't usually have to bring home leftovers.

Millard and Jo Ann Matthews often hand out small gifts to Sugar Hill Church members, small crocheted items and other gifts of her creativity. We have enjoyed tomatoes this summer from plants grown from seedlings he shared last spring.

Sunday, they gave each member a small booklet, a "Directory of Sugar Hill Church," containing the name of each member, with each one's address, birthday and anniversary date. This was made by their son-in-law, appreciated by all and thankful for such friends.

Happy birthday to Josh King, David Bush, Vince Wofford, Billy Bradley, Jim Morris, Tubby Shannon, Denise Mounce, Amy White, Glenn Braly, Linc Bradley, Jesse King, James Myers, Oleta Danforth.

Happy anniversary to Earl and Betty Adams, Edwin and Janet Roy, Leon and Jeanine Tucker.

Happy years, all!

Happy Thanksgiving, all!
