More Than 500,000 Meals Provided

More than 500,000 meals have been provided to food banks and nonprofit organizations through Arvest Bank's fifth annual 1 Million Meals campaign. The bank's initiative is halfway to its goal.

The campaign challenges bank associates, customers and community members to fight hunger in the communities the bank serves.

"We are grateful for every donation we have received from our partners, customers and community," said Lori Winesburg, of Arvest Bank in Siloam Springs.

Arvest branches throughout Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma have been collecting nonperishable food items and money. Efforts will continue through Oct. 31.

In western Washington County, the following groups are benefiting from the campaign: Prairie Grove School Backpack Program, The Ambassador Club in Prairie Grove, Grace Place in Lincoln, and Seven Hills Homeless Center and Life Source International in Fayetteville.

The organizations will receive donated food and money.

Residents of Northwest Arkansas and Fort Smith can help support these organizations during the initiative by dropping off nonperishable food items or monetary donations at any local Arvest branch or calling (866) 952-9523 to contribute.
