PG Athletes Set PRs At McDonnell Invite

Freshman Bostian Wins 1,600-Meter Run

FAYETTEVILLE -- The annual John McDonnell Invitational on the University of Arkansas campus brought out the best in three Prairie Grove High runners.

Prairie Grove freshman Bekah Bostian edged Fayetteville junior Rachel Allen by less than a second to win the 1,600-meter run at the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville.

Bostian crossed the finish line in 5:34.73, a personal record and just ahead of Allen's time of 5:35.39.

In the 3,200, Bostian finished third behind a pair of Fayetteville High runners. Her time of 12:05.93 also was a personal best.

Lady Tigers senior Ashley Cox came in fourth in the 300-meter hurdles and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles. She ran personal records in both events, with a 17.50 in the 100 and a 48.66 in the 300.

Senior Coty Hoskins came in third in the 300-hurdles with a 41.18, a personal record. He also ran a PR of 16.77 in the 110 hurdles.

Despite being slowed by a hamstring injury, Tigers senior Sydney Walker still managed a second-place finish in the 400-meter run with a time of 53.04.
