Boy Scouts Plan Food Drive

Cub and Boy Scouts in Northwest Arkansas and surrounding communities will be distributing empty bags on Saturday, Feb. 6, to area neighborhoods as part of their annual food drive. Scouts will return the morning of Saturday, Feb. 13, to collect the filled bags left on the front doorstep in these same neighborhoods. If a Scout misses your house or neighborhood, please drop by an area Harps Food Store, Harps Marketplace or Price Cutter store to pick up a bag and instruction handout to fill the bag and return it to that same store on Feb. 13.

The Boy Scout Scouting for Food drive helps support local food pantries in the 17 Northwest, North and West Central Arkansas counties of the Westark Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. Recipients of the collected food will vary from area churches and rescue missions as well as the larger food banks in Fort Smith and Northwest Arkansas.

Harps Food stores and Price Cutter stores within our 17 county area have generously stepped forward to participate and sponsor the 2016 Scouting for Food effort.

Remember to check your front door on Feb. 6 for a Scouting for Food bag.
