The Lincoln Senior Center has been undergoing many changes during the last few weeks, with some employees moving on to other jobs, and some retiring, leaving a shortage of help; but hopefully, as we read this, at least a van driver and new director will have been hired. Miss Tina has been working both Lincoln and Farmington Centers as director, but she plans to move to the Farmington Center full time when everything has been settled.
Words can't express how we have appreciated Miss Tina and her leadership, and the Lincoln members hate to see her go, but understand that, the new job being nearer her home, less stress at least in time and traveling. She leaves an example for our new director, with her hard-work ethic, caring and concern. The center has grown so it is no small job to manage. A lady recently remarked, "We had 71 for lunch yesterday." That is a full house, for Lincoln.
Though it isn't expressed often enough, volunteers at the center are always appreciated. (Volunteers built the center.) These past weeks the volunteers have helped where needed and of course, those who daily, in all weather, deliver meals to the home-bound, are appreciated. Thank you, each and every one. Volunteers have been the backbone of the center from day one. Before the kitchen was built in Lincoln, the only paid staff was the van driver and director. All others were volunteers.
