Lincoln Lifestyles

Remember the Alumni reunion this Sunday, July 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the new Lincoln High School building. The first reunion many years ago, had around 200 attending. Could we possibly do the same this year?

I have just come from recycling. Because of different circumstances, we missed it two weeks ago, and those papers, plastic jugs, magazines, etc., had really piled up. This made me doubly thankful for this service, which keeps the items out of the land fills. Remember, you can recycle plastic jugs and bottles, number 1 and 2, look for the code on the bottom of jars and bottles. Also to be recycled are newspapers, magazines, mixed paper such as envelopes, copy, junk mail, computer paper, stationery, etc, as well as cardboard and brown paper grocery bags. They do not take paper plates, or cups, frozen food boxes, egg cartons, and no margarine or yogurt or other tubs. They are in Lincoln each second and fourth Monday, except on holidays, and their hours now are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

I have two young nandina bushes that have come up in the flower beds, and I will gladly share. If someone wants them, call and I will save them for you, until this fall, when they can be transplanted. Nandinas have clusters of red berries that the birds really like.

Belated birthday greetings to all who had birthdays which should have been in last week's paper, in this column, which I was unable to submit. I hope they were happy, and my best wishes for many more to come.

Now, for next week, Happy birthday to Joyce Snodgrass, Amy Love, Effie Fulnechek, Garrett Bush, Kenneth Davis, Jimmy King, Tara Stathakis, twins McKenzie Pretty and Easton Pretty, Millard Matthews, Alexander Myers, Daniel Bradley, Julie West, Michael Cox.

Happy years, all!

Remember the Alumni reunion this Sunday July 24, and recycling Monday, July 25.
