Stray Bullet Falls In House

FARMINGTON -- Police believe gunshots heard Thursday night probably are related to a man finding a hole in his ceiling and a bullet in the bed, according to Sgt. Mike Wilbanks with Farmington Police Department.

"I can't say that they are related but it seems they could possibly be," Wilbanks said Friday.

Police investigated a report about gunshots about 9 p.m. Thursday but did not find anything. The shots seemed to come between Southwinds Drive and North Haven, Wilbanks said. Shortly afterward, police received a call about a bullet in someone's house.

Wilbanks said a bullet went through a roof, ceiling and landed in a bed in a house on Iris Street. The bullet was from a 45-caliber handgun and the department has the bullet in hand. No one was injured.

Wilbanks said the police would investigate the reports but did not have any suspects at this time.
