MARTIAL LAW DECLARED! Could this happen? Yes! We're fragmented. Peaceful dissent? Not so much. Whenever government has to stop riots, we're forfeiting freedom. Thomas Jefferson warned us this day could come, if we surrendered individual responsibility to the state. Can we turn things around?
For 50 years America has been telling God, "Get out of our schools. Get out of our courts. Get out of our sex lives. Get out of our politics." Well, okay then. Go tell the ACLU to patrol our streets now, okay? All the moral restraints are gone.
God isn't deaf. He heard us reject him. Can you see him withdrawing? How do you like America now? Are we better off with the Bible taken out but Islamic immigrants coming in? Are we better off since liberals nearly did away with the two-parent family but now are taxing us into poverty to pay for welfare?
As a nation, we've cut the roots of the Tree of Liberty and its branches are dying. Those roots ran deep into bedrock faith that once connected us to our Covenant-Keeper - the God of the Bible -- and to compacts long forgotten.
Have you seen a $2 bill? It's lovely. It's still legal tender. Unlike the $100 bill, it hasn't been redesigned. On it's backside is a painting -- the historic picture of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence. That's our nation's photo ID -- our birth certificate -- right there on a $2 bill!
A majority of Americans don't know how we got here. When I was in high school, my history book had The Great Awakening and stories about John Wesley. The gospel shaped our nation. Our universities - Princeton, Harvard, and Yale -- all were theology schools. Godly values guided America. Prayer, the Bible, and spiritual awakenings, caused our people to believe in America's goodness. We rejected slavery. Individual responsibility was the norm. By knowing the Bible, men were moved to stay married, raise kids, go to church, tell the truth, and respect the law.
Our democracy fails if citizens are ignorant of the virtues that made us great or obscure the faith of the founding fathers or their courage. We didn't spring into existence in a vacuum. Our nation was sown from the fabric of strong beliefs and biblical truths shared by the signers of the Declaration of Independence. But the propaganda fix is in. The media brainwashing has been enormously successful.
Who owns the media? Who determines the images on TV? It is people who hate Christians and hate conservatives. The media monopoly is pervasive - electronic brainwashing. Reasonable Americans are cast as buffoons -- Tea Party patriots, parents that home school, Christians who love Jesus. Hey, add conservatives -- those nuts who believe the Constitution's form of limited government -- they're crazy too!
Do you know why it seems like Americans are becoming poorer? Because we are becoming poorer. The bigger the government is, the poorer the citizens are.
I am not hearing an articulate vision for America to survive, much less be great. Donald-slogans appeal to angry voters but I want to hear more. Hillary-slander against your opponent works now, but it's not enough to win those who think you're Obama 2.0. Who has the integrity and the courage to lead? Who will God anoint?
Our $2 bill -- a symbol of the historic covenant given America by God -- seems like it's ragged, torn in half. I can see the rip. So, don't hand me a cup of water when the house is on fire.
