Devecsery Tosses Two-Hit Shutout In Maumelle Opener

Farmington's softball team split its 5A-West doubleheader against Maumelle on April 26.

Paige Devecsery struck out nine while pitching a two-hit shutout in a 5-0 win in the opener.

Carley Antwine's RBI single in fifth gave the Lady Cardinals the lead and they added four more runs in the seventh to create the final margin.

Callie Harper was 3 for 4 with an RBI and Brooke Smith was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs to lead a 10-hit outburst for Farmington.

In the late game, Farmington put up four runs in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh, but Maumelle answered with six runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out an 11-10 win.

Offensively, the Lady Cards were led by Brandy Wallace (3 for 5, 2 runs, RBI) and Camryn Journagan (2 for 3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs).
