A three-run seventh inning spelled disaster for the Lady Cardinals' softball team as Beebe rallied from behind for a 5-4 victory in the Class 5A State Tournament in Harrison on May 12.
Farmington sandwiched a pair of two runs innings around a two-run fifth inning by Beebe to take a 4-2 lead heading into the Lady Badgers' final at-bat.
Paige Devecsery and Madison Parrish each drove in a run to put the Lady Cardinals on the scoreboard the top of the fifth after Callie Harper led off the inning with a double to right field.
Following Beebe's two-run fifth, Camryn Journagan was hit by a pitch and later scored on Carley Antwine's single. Harper, who reached on a fielder's choice, scored on the same play to help Farmington regain the lead.
Devecsery allowed 6 hits while striking out 6 and walked 4 in 6-plus innings.Beebe went on to lose 7-1 to De Queen in the quarterfinals.
Farmington finished the regular season with 20 wins and had outscored Harrison 30-1 during a doubleheader sweep on May 3.
In an 18-0 win in the late game, Brandy Wallace 3 for 4 with 3 runs, Devecsery and Journgan both were was 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs and Harper was 2 for 4 with 4 RBIs. Parrish and Antwine beach had two hits, two runs and two RBIs.
Wallace and Devecsery combined to pitch a two-hitter in the four inning game.
The Lady Cardinals blew open the opener with a seven-run sixth inning on their wary to a 12-1 victory.
Journagan and Alyssa Reed each had three hits and 2 RBIs. Parrish has a game-high 3 RBIs while going 2 for 3. Devecsery and Anna Bennett both had 2 RBIs.
Brooke (BR) Smith allowed no earned runs on 5 hits while striking out 4 to pick up the win.
