A dear friend sent me the following that we would like to share.

"I've never made a fortune and it's probably

too late now,

I don't worry about that, I'm happy anyhow.

As I go along life's journey I'm reaping better

than I sowed;

I'm drinking from my saucer 'cause my cup

has over flowed.

Ain't got a lot of riches and sometimes

the going's tough.

But I've got my family and friends that love me

that makes me rich enough.

I thank God for His blessings and the

mercies He's bestowed;

I'm drinking from my saucer 'cause my

cup has overflowed.

I remember times when things went wrong

My faith got a little thin

But all at once the dark clouds broke

and sun peeped through again.

So Lord help me not to gripe about

The tough rows I've hoed.

I'm drinking from my saucer 'cause

my cup has overflowed.

If God gives me the strength and courage when

the way grows steep and rough,

I'll not ask for other blessings, I'm already

blessed enough.

May I never be too busy to help others

bear their load.

I'll keep drinking from my saucer

'cause my cup has overflowed." anon.

Saturday, Keith and Karen Lipford held a fish fry at the home of her parents, Johnny and Anna Cheatham, celebrating Anna's retirement, and Mother's Day, with 16 family and friends to enjoy it. The meal was capped off with a layered chocolate cake and a decorated one, with "Happy Retirement, Nana."

Sunday, with many visits, calls, and gifts, was a very enjoyable time. "And my cup continually overflows."

Fourth Sunday decorations: Beaty, Cheatham, Ganderville, Old Union, Sugar Hill, Wedington.

Happy birthday to Bayli Standifer, Jack Thompson, Jacqueline Abshier, Kash Koerner, Thelma Loftin.

Happy anniversary to Mike and Kim Lyons, Ronnie and Annell Cochran, Henson and Reba Tittle, Justin and Lisa Rawls.

Happy years, all!
