Newsletter Tells About Fun Things To Do

PRAIRIE GROVE -- If you are looking for things to do with your children this summer, a free weekly e-newsletter is published by Prairie Grove resident Kara Ault.

The newsletter is a resource for families, Ault said. Macraroni Kid newsletters are available across the country in 500 communities and when the one for Fayetteville became available, Ault decided to apply for it. At the time, the newsletter had 1,100 subscribers. Now, 3,800 people subscribe to receive the electronic newsletter.

Revenue for the newsletter comes from advertising sold to local businesses.

While it is called a newsletter, the essence of it is to provide a calendar to parents and others about events and activities going on in northwest Arkansas.

"It has a targeted audience, parents with kids," Ault said, "94 percent of the people who read it are moms and some dads read it too."

To find the newsletter go to fayetteville.maracronikid.com. You do not have to be a subscriber to see the calendar. The calendar is available to anyone who goes to the website.
