Band Members Make Music, Tell Jokes

The Lincoln Senior Center had twelve band members "making music" Tuesday morning. Jack Thompson, George Schooler and Harold Nelson added to the fun, entertaining with their jokes. We ladies must come up with some "men" jokes to get even for all those about women! George also gave a list of students' answers to the teacher's questions. My favorite: The subject they were studying must have been geography, the subject America. The teacher said, "Billy, will you come up and show me where America is on the map?" Which Billy did. Then the teacher asked another question, "Can anyone tell me who discovered America?" A little boy raised his hand and said, "Billy."

We missed George and Lorene the two weeks they were on vacation, for without them we just don't have a band and we appreciate them and miss them all the more when they aren't around.

Look for a report on our member Jack Thompson as his picture was taken with the gun he won at the recent raffle. Also present for the photo was the winner of the donated quilt, Lyndia Yarborough. Congratulations to both.

For once, I was able to stay and enjoy the meal in the Center, Tuesday. It was gluten free: Honey lemon chicken, parsley potatoes, country veggies, and mixed fruit for dessert, including your choice of drink, all for only $3. I would love to have the recipe for that chicken.

The Center will be closed for Veteran's Day, as most others will be. Fly your Flag. Thank a Veteran.

Happy birthday to Brandon Bradley, John Griscom, Wesley Martsching, Patricia Wooten, Jimmy Chambliss, Kathy Farmer, Ivan Cushing.

Happy 60th anniversary to Paul and Wanda Lea Brakebill.

Happy years, all!
