Farmington voters elected Amy Hill to Position 4 on the Farmington School Board in the Sept. 20 school election.

In unofficial results, Hill received 278 votes (75.5 percent). Her challenger, Jay Moore, received 90 votes (24.5 percent).

Hill graduated from Farmington High School and attended the University of Arkansas from 1995-1998. She and her husband own Hill Electric Inc., and Buzz Electrical Services and have four children who attend Farmington schools.

She was appointed to fill a vacancy on the board last summer and has served on Farmington School Board since that time.

Hill on Thursday said she was honored by the people who came out and voted in the school election and was impressed by the voter turnout.

"I am looking forward to serving our School District for five more years," Hill wrote in an email. "There are very important decisions in our near future for our District and Community due to growth: Phase 3 of our High School, keeping our elementary buildings ahead of the growth, renovation to keep our schools up to date, and keeping our District as one desired to attend by families moving into our area for academic, arts, athletic and vocational opportunities."

Farmington School District has 7,837 registered voters.

The Washington County Election Commission will certify results Sept. 30.
