The Benton and Washington Counties' combined "Livestock Shortcourse" are having their second course meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at Farmer's Livestock Auction in Springdale.

The discussion will focus on two topics. The first topic is dealing with the new Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) with guest expert Dr. Heidi Ward, Extension Veterinarian. The second discussion topic is controlling weeds in pastures and hay fields with expert Johnny Gunsaulis, Benton County Cooperative Extension Service.

Even if you were unable to join us for our first shortcourse evening you are still invited to join us to discuss and have your questions answered about the new VFD regulation and the subsequent implications to your operation along with learning or reinforcing best management practices as they apply to managing weeds throughout your operation.

For more information please contact the Benton County Extension Office at 479-271-1060 or the Washington County Extension Office at 479-444-1755.
