Summer Reading Program Starts Monday

The summer reading program sponsored by Washington County Library System for grades kindergarten-fourth grade starts the week of June 19.

For western Washington County, the program will be held 10 a.m. Mondays at Farmington Public Library, 10 a.m. Wednesdays at Lincoln Public Library and 1 p.m. Wednesdays at Prairie Grove Children's Library.

This year's theme is "Build a Better World." New books and old favorites, arts and crafts, games, prizes and guest speakers along the summer theme will be used each week.

Workshops for grades 5 and up will be held over the summer. One of the workshops will be helping with a Habitat for Humanity house, 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, June 15, and another volunteer opportunity will be available 9 a.m. to noon June 17 at Gulley Park in Fayetteville.
