Can You Believe It? July Is Almost Here

Summer really began June 21, and now July is upon us. So, July is family reunion month, car care, kite, recreation and parks, anti-boredom, straw hat, stress awareness, make a difference to children, mobility, national blueberries, grilling, hot dogs, baked beans, pecan, horseradish, ice cream, cell phone courtesy, poetry, and humor month. (What happened to umbrella month?) And don't forget the 4th of July, time to celebrate our freedoms, forever thankful.

Don and Carolyn Moke of Dimmitt, Texas, visited cousin Johnny and Anna Cheatham last week. They spent part of two days visiting local antique shops, and acquiring some items to take back with them to display in a business in Dimmitt. Saturday evening their family and another cousin, Jody and Darlene Cheatham, met at Johnny and Anna's, and enjoyed some fun Texas style card games. The visitors left early Sunday, to go by and see others on their way home. Hopefully, they missed the storms such as had occurred in Oklahoma. Don said, after all, they were driving through tornado alley.

The rain we received was welcome as, (can you believe it?) we needed a good shower. It was just enough to soak the fertilizer in, spread on hay fields after hay cutting, and also settle in the plants of late gardens. We are so blessed!

Happy birthday greeting to Nikki Bradley, Woody Rogers, Donnette Roberts, Lillian Griscom, Adam Barnes, J. W. Cheatham, Diana Bradley, Ricky Myers, Brian Bradley, Ralph Moore.

Happy anniversary to Jerrod and Sara Bradley, Gary and Mary Newberry, Duck and Sue Perguson.

Happy years, all!
