Seniors Enjoy Halloween Costume Party

Wednesday, November 8, 2017

The Myers family reunion, in the home of Charlie and Carol Pitts in Siloam Springs, was well attended Saturday, considering the fact that many family members were unable to be there. Some children had ball games to play that day, some were on their jobs, some ill, and one member was in Fort Worth, Texas, helping judge a cook-off, his third this month, after many others all summer. This one in Fort Worth was the world championship cook off, with 115 countries represented. The other two this month were in White Hall, just out of Pine Bluff, and one in Muskogee, Okla. So he does "get around," but this was the last for this year.

Back to the reunion - of the 60 attending, all were busy having fun, eating, visiting, eating, and that afternoon, the living room was packed with Hog fans, watching "the game" on T.V. It sounded like Razorback Stadium when Arkansas scored, and their winning the game "put icing on the cake" for the day. Another wonderful get together, more memories to cherish.

Saturday evening was a fun time in the Lincoln Senior Center also. Center director Joanna sat outside with a table full of goodies for the trick or treat youngsters who came by, and evidently there were many! Later the older "youngsters at heart" seniors enjoyed dancing to the band's music. During the costume show, Oda Wagnon won the prize for the best costume. Yes, there is always fun and entertainment as well as eating in the Center. They plan a bake sale fundraiser for the 17th and their Fall Carnival the 18th. More on these later.
