Evangel University

Madison Barnes of Farmington was named to the spring 2017 Dean's List at Evangel University in Springfield, Mo. During the spring semester, Barnes was a senior with a major in elementary education. Full-time students who have earned a grade point average of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale are eligible to be on the Dean's List.

University of Dallas

Jarred Osnes, a Farmington graduate, was named to the Dean's List for the 2017 spring semester at University of Dallas. To be named to the Dean's List, students have to earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

University of Arkansas, Fayetteville

Lizeth Martinez of Prairie Grove has been selected as one of the 14 outstanding University of Arkansas freshmen to enter the Honors College Path Program this fall.

Martinez is a kinesiology major in the College of Education and Health Professions. She is the daughter of Ignacio and Maria Martinez of Prairie Grove. She is a graduate of Prairie Grove High School.

The Path program, which began in 2014, is a mentoring initiative that recruits talented high school students from underrepresented populations and helps them achieve academic success at the University of Arkansas.

The Path program pairs students with peer and professional mentors who help them achieve success in the classroom and explore opportunities to secure scholarships and financial aid, study abroad, conduct research and get involved in campus leadership.

University of Central Arkansas

The University of Central Arkansas held its latest commencement Aug. 11. Leslie Peters Spurgers of Farmington graduated with a bachelor of arts degree and Audrey Rodgers of Farmington graduated with a bachelor of science degree.
