Free Concerts To Headline Trades Day

Rain canceled Prairie Grove's 2nd Saturday Trades Day in August and organizers are hoping for nice weather for the September event.

The next 2nd Saturday Trades Day will be Saturday, Sept. 9, in downtown Prairie Grove with most of the activities planned for late afternoon and into the evening.

Three homegrown bands known throughout the area will present free concerts and visitors are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and enjoy the music.

Headlining the event will be a free concert at 6 p.m. by Joe Giles and the Homewreckers.

Live music will start at 3 p.m. in the lawn next to the Prairie Grove Chamber building with McKenzies' and General Holler. John Hays and Friends will play at 4:30 p.m.

Grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, along with chips, candy and drinks, will be available at the Chamber building. Costs will include $5 for a hamburger basket and $3 for a hotdog basket.

Children's activities also will start at 3 p.m. An inflatable bounce house and slide, Party Time Ponies and facepainting will be on site for children to have their own fun. Carriage rides also will be ongoing for guests.

All proceeds from Trades Day go back to future events.
