Gospel Singing Benefits Young & Old

Many years ago we enjoyed Gospel singing concerts, fundraisers which helped so much on the Meals on Wheels program. They were very successful as they were indeed so enjoyed.

Now, again we have that opportunity, as another such occasion is planned for this Saturday, April 21, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., in the Frank Holman building in Lincoln Middle School north of town.

The good old Gospel music will be by James McKinney and Friends, Farmington First, Golden Harvest Quartet, and Michelle Franks Gibbs, all the best performers for enjoyment and for a good cause. The proceeds will be going towards the Lincoln Meals on Wheels, and to the Lincoln Baseball program, thus helping our younger, and older, citizens.

Center director Joanna Stricker has the tickets for sale, $10 each. Center phone number, 479-824-3861.

Another upcoming event is planned. Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 26. The 23rd Cincinnati reunion is planned for that day. It seems now like it is so far in the future, but we all know how times flies! Be sorting through your family photos, especially of those who served in the Armed Forces, and take them to display. For more information, call Diane Moorman, 824-5277; John Randolph, 824-3483; Glenita Guthrie, 918-723-5121, or Sharon Barnes, 824-3833.

Again, news for the future. Eleven Lincoln Alumni met and planned for this year's reunion. The definite date hasn't been set, but it is planned for some time in July, so we have plenty of time for planning. We'll report the date as soon as possible to remind you, again (and again).

Happy birthday to Goy Jones, Hunter Taylor, Sherry Gardner, Wilma Myers, Jackie Griffin, Joy Thomas, Kenny Bailey, Jeremy Pitts, Jo Powell, Mike Pinkerton, Verla Barker, Ed Bailey, Jerrod Bradley, Patti Strickler, Dorothy Jordan.
