Enjoying The Show In The Sky

Wednesday, February 7, 2018

During the past months, the skies have put on quite a show. First came the sun eclipse and later on, the "super moon." I've always heard the expression, "once in a blue moon" which means something very seldom happening. The so called blue moon happens two times in a month, which is very seldom, This time, in January, it just barely qualified, one on the first day, and again on the very last day. To make it more interesting, it was a full moon eclipse, also on the 31st. A "red moon" was forecast, but it was not visible from my place. Some said it looked more copper color. Interesting.

I had a very interesting visit by phone, with my nephew Charlie Pitts. Eight members of their family toured Ireland recently, and he is very impressed by the country. Carol said if it wasn't for leaving their grandchildren, he would go live there. He climbed the tower and hung upside down to kiss the Blarney stone, and he was the one who didn't want to go when they were planning the trip! I'm anxious for another personal visit and to hear all about it and see the picture albums Carol is working on. She's now on her second one.

There was a near full house attendance Sunday afternoon at the Farmington Baptist Church on Rhea's Mill Road when, Cornerstone, a six-member bluegrass band from Eastern Oklahoma entertained. Our enjoyment of their music continued as we listened to one of their tapes on our way home.

Happy birthday greetings to Matt Watson, Juanita Cox, Rachel Williams, Vicky Bailey, Sammie Hannah, Ronnie Cochran and Cody Danforth.

Happy anniversary to Jack and Evelyn Thompson, Doug and Effie Fulnechek, and Kenneth and Gail Myers.

Happy years, all!
