Ruth Maxine Metcalf Dickenson

Ruth Maxine Metcalf Dickenson, 79, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, in Prairie Grove.

She was born Aug. 23, 1938, in Cedar Vale, Kan., the daughter of Earl and Myrtie Marie Coil.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Metcalf; second husband, Ott Dickenson; her parents; and one brother, Lester.

Survivors include two daughters, Marquita Smith and husband Jim and Shirley Wilson and husband Don; one brother, Robert; three grandchildren, Lacey Oxford and husband Jake, Logan Martiin and wife Holly and Tristan Trester and husband Chad; four great-grandchildren, Jace, Kenzie, Cash and Collins.

Family will gather at the graveside at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Kan.

Larry Wayne Moore

Larry Wayne Moore, 76, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

He was born Nov. 18, 1941, in Linton, Ind., the son of Archie and Ethel (Holder) Moore. He retired as a supervisor at Alltel Telephone Company after 33 years of service. He was a good Christian man and was very active in several area churches including West Fork Baptist Church, New Sulphur Free Will Baptist Church, CLC, and Prairie Grove Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Moore; his parents; and one brother, Gary Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Moore; four daughters, Debbie Johnson and husband Don, Pam Villines and husband Tommy, Vicky Cheatham and husband Rob, and Rhonda Greenway and husband Mark; one stepdaughter, Carol Tanner; one stepson, Kevin Garrett and wife Misty; one sister, Wanda Garrett; one brother, Marvin Moore and wife Roberta; 11 grandchildren, Monty Rollins, Brandon Villines, Tyler Villines, Jamie Selph, Sarah Haley, Collin Cheatham, Chelsea Cheatham, Katie Greenway, Garrett Greenway, Caleb Garrett, and Joshua Garrett; five great-grandchildren, Reece Rollins, Marley Rollins, Cruz Haley, Spencer Selph, and Fen Cheatham.

Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at Prairie Grove Christian Church. Burial was in the West Fork Cemetery.

John Junior Swain

John Junior Swain, 90, a resident of Lincoln and long time resident of Dutch Mills area, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born January 13, 1928 in Swain, Arkansas, the son of Ralph Justice and Dollie Mae (Lynch) Swain.

John served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Wanda Patterson, two sisters Lela Mae Wright and Elwanda Swain and two infant sons.

Survivors include his daughter Karen Lynnette Freedle and husband John Lyle of Westville, Oklahoma; son Michael Swain and wife Ruth of Prairie Grove; one grandson Daniel Freedle and wife Stephanie of Prairie Grove and one granddaughter Jenna Swain of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Burial will be in the Dutch Mills Cemetery.
