PRAIRIE GROVE -- Emily Grant's 3-pointer erased a two-point Pea Ridge lead with a minute to go and the Lady Blackhawks never recovered as Prairie Grove pulled off a 47-44 win.

The rescheduled game last Wednesday played out as a see-saw affair. Prairie Grove led 19-13 at the half before a 20-10 Lady Blackhawk spurt in the third quarter enabled Pea Ridge to move ahead, 33-29, going into the fourth period. From that juncture on the teams traded mini runs and took turns capturing the lead.

"It was a battle back and forth," said Prairie Grove coach Kevin Froud. "We'd get a four or five point lead, then they'd get a four or five point lead. We were able to have the lead when the clock ran out."

Pea Ridge turned the ball over on the ensuing possession after Grant's clutch 3-pointer put Prairie Grove in front, 45-44. The Lady Blackhawks fouled Larisha Crawford, who buried a pair of free throws widening Prairie Grove's advantage to three points, 47-44.

The contest remained a one possession game, but as Froud praised his defenders, "We were able to keep them scoreless for the final 50 seconds."

Grant topped the Lady Tigers with 18 points on respectable 5-of-13 shooting. She was particularly effective from long-range, making 4-of-8 trifectas. Crawford chipped in 13 points. She was 4-of-8 from the field and 4-of-4 at the foul line. Sarah James-Stone grabbed 12 rebounds and handed out 4 assists to lead the team in both categories.

"She had a good, complete game," Froud said. "Lately, she's just been a woman on the boards. I want her to score a little bit more and drive to the basket. She's done a good job of rebounding and kicking it out and we've hit the shots lately."
