LINCOLN -- Four Lincoln athletes with three on the buddy system signed national letters of intent to play college softball on Wednesday, May 9, in the Lincoln High School library.

Third baseman Hollie Webb, shortstop Jada Corbit, outfielder Katie Lankford, and outfielder Madison Jones are taking advantage of an opportunity to play softball and continue their education. Hollie Webb signed a national letter of intent to play college softball at Henderson State University, at Arkadelphia; while her three high school teammates signed with Ecclesia College of Springdale.

The three girls signing with Eccelesia College posed with Lincoln High School head softball coach Beau Collins, and assistant coach Megan Jobe, while Lincoln athletic director Deon Birkes was on hand to congratulate them.

Hollie Webb

Hollie Webb signed a national letter of intent to play college softball at Henderson State University, at Arkadelphia, while continuing her education. Hollie Webb is the daughter of Colburn and Jessica Webb.

Hollie Webb plans to major in Biology, and wants to become a physical therapist. She started playing softball at the young age of 4, and has loved the game since that age. While attending Lincoln schools she participated in many clubs, and functions. Hollie Webb has received many awards, including being named All-Conference three times, and All-Conference honorable mention as a freshmen. She was invited to play softball for Legends 99 softball where she played for three years, receiving Offensive Player of the year her junior year, and Offensive MVP once for the legends, and for Lincoln Wolves. She has maintained 3.8 GPA throughout high school, while participating in extracurricular activities basketball and volleyball. She is very excited to take her education, and softball to the next level.

As a senior Hollie Webb appeared in 25 games, batting .342 with 25 hits in 73 at-bats. She had 97 plate appearances at the top of the order, scoring 30 runs with 11 RBIs and 3 doubles. Hollie Webb took base 24 times on balls and reached on an error 5 times. Hollie Webb had 19 stolen bases to tie for the team lead with younger sister, Kinley Webb.

Jada Corbit

During her senior year, Corbit played in 25 games, batting .397. Among her 86 plate appearances, she belted 31 hits in 78 at-bats with 15 runs scored, 21 RBIs and 9 doubles. Corbit took 7 bases-on-balls and only struck out 4 times. She reached on an error once and was hit by a pitch one time. Corbit had 13 stolen bases. Corbit's fielding percentage was .896 and she turned 3 double plays.

Katie Lankford

As a senior Lankford played catcher. She appeared in 25 games with a .452 batting average. In 80 plate appearances, Lankford recorded 33 hits in 73 at-bats with 20 runs scored, 13 RBIs, 5 doubles, and 3 triples. She took 7 bases-on-balls and reached on an error twice. Lankford stole 13 bases. Lankford had a .971 fielding percentage.

Madison Jones

Jones appeared in 25 games as a senior, posting a .351 batting average. Of her 83 plate appearances, she knocked out 26 hits in 74 at-bats with 19 runs scored, 16 RBIs and 3 doubles. Jones struck out 9 times, but offset that with 9 bases-on-balls and reaching on an error 5 times. She was hit by a pitch 3 times. Jones stole 12 bases and maintained a .978 fielding percentage only committing one error for the year while turning 2 double plays.
