Lincoln Rodeo Dates Reset For August

LINCOLN -- The 65th annual Lincoln Rodeo has been rescheduled for Aug. 9-11. This year marks the second year dates for the Lincoln Rodeo have shifted. Dates were scheduled for May 17-19 for 2018, at the Lincoln Riding Club Arena. According to information released by Lincoln Riding Club advance tickets sold with May dates on them will be honored.

A Visa raffle will be held May 20 and the Club will get in touch with the winner.

For several years the rodeo was held the first or second week of June, but in recent years those dates conflicted with other rodeos in which club members wanted to participate.

Lincoln Riding Club's rodeo arena showcases events in several categories including: steer wrestling, bull riding, saddle bronc, team roping, bareback riding, barrel racing, calf roping and break-a-way roping.

The rodeo has been sanctioned for several years by American Cowboys Rodeo Association and the International Professional Rodeo Association.

The stick horse grand entry held nightly at 7:30 p.m. gives youngsters an opportunity to be part of the rodeo, followed by the 8 p.m. rodeo performance.
