Mamie Ruth Ledford

Mamie Ruth Ledford, 86, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

She was born Jan. 14, 1932, in Prairie Grove, the daughter of Eugene "Gene" and Birdie Mae (Hightower) Vinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill Vinson; and one sister, Sue Dean.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Tommy Ledford; one son, Donald Ledford and wife Kathy; one daughter, Vickie Murray and husband Joe; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery, there will be no graveside service held.

Charles Wesley Macy Sr.

Charles Wesley Macy Sr., 77, of Morrow, Ark., died Monday, Oct. 1, 2018.

He was born July 18, 1941, to Theodore Roosevelt and Effie Irene (Rizley) Macy. He was a Pentecostal and an Army Veteran who served during the same time as Elvis Presley.

He wass preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Patricia Jordan; three brothers, Frankie, Jackie and Jimmy Macy; two sisters, Wanda and Jona Gorman.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Macy; four sons, Charles Wesley Macy Jr. (Denise), Wylie James Macy (Vicki), Frankie Allen Macy (Sonya), and Teddy Charles Macy (Desiree); three brothers, Darryl Reeves (Linda), Bobby Reeves (Tammy) and Tommy Reeves (Michelle); three sisters, Lula Eldredge (Martin), Sharin Harrison and Willene O'Donnell; three stepchildren, Francesca Wood (Keith), Tony Macy (Beth) and Christopher Macy (Angel); 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.

Funeral Service was held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale, Ark.

Lorene McCarver

Lorene McCarver, 84, of Farmington, Ark., passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, in Prairie Grove, Ark. She was born April 30, 1934, in Fayetteville, Ark., the daughter of Cofford and Mae (Osburn) Doss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Jasper McCarver; one daughter, Teri Jean Smith; three brothers, Richard Doss, Burl Doss and Danny Doss; and one sister, Bonnie Shipley.

Survivors include three sons, Stanley McCarver, Mark McCarver and wife Tracey and Artis McCarver; two daughters, Deanna Brazeal and April Reed and husband Ricky; three brothers, James Doss, Donald Doss and Roger Doss; two sisters, Verna Osburn and Louise Ralston; one stepson, Victor Truman McCarver; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in the Baptist Ford Cemetery, with no graveside services.

Gloria Anne Shannon

Gloria Anne Shannon, 75, of Fort Smith, Ark., passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, in Fort Smith. She was born Dec. 14, 1942, in Okmulgee, Okla., to C. Gene Barton and Charlicey M. Dawson Barton.

She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church where she taught 8th-grade Sunday school for many years along with being a member of the church choir. She sat on the church building committee for the development of the Education Building. She was a member and past president of Sparks Guild and past board member for the Western Arkansas Ballet. She was an avid tennis player, playing with friends in both Fort Smith and Nashville, Tenn., and winning the Over Fifty Ladies team State Tournament with her Nashville team. She will always be remembered for her loving spirit and commitment to family, friends and community.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Luana K. Pershall.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jimmie Shannon; sons, Christopher G. Shannon and Joshua L. Shannon both of Nashville; sister, Faye M. Villines (Richard) of Van Buren, Ark.; brother, C. Gene Barton Jr. (Beverly) of Shreveport, La.; grandchildren, Jayne E. Shannon and Wesley E. Shannon both of Nashville.

Funeral service was 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Graveside service was at Bethesda Cemetery in Lincoln, Ark.

Pallbearers were Cleve McDonald, Jim Ford, Preston Cox, Richard Villines, Hardie Jefferies and Paul Glover. Honorary Pallbearers were the whole Adult 7 Sunday School Class.

Sylvia Webb, 66, of Lincoln, Ark., passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born June 7, 1952, in Arizona, the daughter of Robert Marvin and Eunice (Hale) Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry Webb; and two brothers, Danny and Reuben Johnson.

Survivors include three sons, Greg Holiday, Colburn Webb and wife Jessica and Brian Webb; three sisters, Marva Jean Villines, Alzina Beth Johnson and Sybil Cherice Johnson; five grandchildren, Gregory Holiday, Hollie Webb, Kinley Webb, Cody Webb and Ashley Kirk; two great-grandchildren, Ryder and Abby Kirk.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Ark. Burial will be in the Bethesda Cemetery and there will be no graveside services.
