Prairie Grove Lake Report

PRAIRIE GROVE -- Fishing on Prairie Grove Lake picked up this past weekend with the rain and cooler temps making the fish more active.

Dennis Kruse, Lake Manager, said bass are doing good in the mornings on buzzbaits and other topwater lures with bream active throughout the day with most catches coming on worms and crickets.

"Good catches of catfish were brought in on livebait and cutbait," Kruse said.

Prairie Grove Lake is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $2 per person or $3 a boat. Kids, 16 and under, fish free and senior citizens over 65 receive a $1 discount. Canoes, kayaks and boats with electric motors can be used but because the 200 acre lake is Prairie Grove's water source gas motors are prohibited.
