Remember Lincoln Alumni Reunion On Saturday

Remember the Lincoln School alumni reunion this Sunday, July 15, in the High School building on Highway 62 East. Meeting is from 2 to 5 p.m.

The recent Gospel concert fundraiser was successful, to help the Lincoln Center, and the Lincoln boys baseball team. with over $1,300 for each. The boys will have enough to purchase uniforms. Our best wishes for them. After all, our Arkansas Razorbacks members were once youngsters themselves, working hard for the success they now enjoy.

The Center's proceeds, of course, were used for the Meals on Wheels and other expenses. Another fundraiser, the garage sale, brought in over $500 with more coming in since Saturday. The Center is a good place to spend time on these hot days, with so many activities to enjoy. Huntsville members are to visit Lincoln for BBB Baseball on this Thursday, July 12, and Prairie Grove comes here on Friday the 13th for Chair Volley Ball. Every Tuesday at 9 to 10 a.m. the Coffee Club meets, and from 10 to 11 a.m. they exercise. Lots to keep moving and enjoying.

There will be no Kitchen Band during the summer and we will miss the music and jocularity, but for now a little humor -

While a man was praying, suddenly God said to him. "We heavenly beings like to help people on earth, so is there any special wish you would like to see fulfilled?"

"Well, yes," said the man, "I've always wanted to go to Hawaii, but I get sick on boats and airplanes. Could you build a bridge from San Francisco to Hawaii?"

After a long silence, God replied, "We'd love to help, but that is a problem we just can't manage. Is there anything else we could help you with?"

The man thought awhile and said, "There is one thing: "I've been married and divorced four times. Do you think you could help me understand women?"

This time there was an even longer pause, then God replied, "That bridge to Hawaii, do you want it two lane or four lanes?"

Happy birthday greetings to Andrew Stathakis, Allen Moore, Dale Hutchinson, Kate Cheatham, Lynn Bush, Scott Davis, Jack Chenowith, Mason Roy, Clark Bailey, Helen Bailey.

Happy years, all!
