Thompson Combines Horses, Adventure And Servanthood

LINCOLN -- Lindsey Thompson likes to combine activities involving riding horses and servanthood to discover adventure.

Thompson is a candidate for the 2019 Lincoln Riding Club queen, who keeps busy working at Teen Adventure Ranch at Morrow overseeing the equine program. She has also volunteered at New Life Ranch and Special Needs Touch Program.

Thompson is the 21-year-old daughter of Troy and Jessica Thompson, of Siloam Springs. Thompson is a sophomore at Northwest Arkansas Community College studying to obtain an elementary education degree.

Thompson has been riding her whole life and has three horses that she rides, Pepper, Land Yap, and Pretty Girl. Thompson loves to barrel race and was also with the Sky High Angels Drill Team for three years.

Thompson has won a ranch rodeo, participated in play days and done queen competitions in which she won horsemanship awards. Thompson has held two titles so far, which are Miss Siloam Springs in 2015 and Miss Rodeo of the Ozarks in 2018. Rodeo has always been a huge part of Thompson's life and that is why she would love to become Miss Lincoln Riding Club. Thompson wants to promote the great sport of rodeo as well as the Lincoln Riding Club.

"I hope that in everything I do that I leave a positive impact on those around me," Thompson said.

The 2019 LRC royalty pageant is interwoven throughout the 66th annual Lincoln Rodeo with winners to be announced during the final performance of the rodeo which begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019.
