GRAVETTE -- The Gravette Lady Lions returned to the Competition Gym in Gravette Dec. 3 playing host to the Lincoln Lady Wolves in a non-conference contest. The results had Lady Lions fans on their feet until the end as Gravette roared past the Lady Wolves by 30 points, 63-33.
Gravette jumped out to a good start in the first quarter holding Lincoln to only 10 points while building a six-point lead going into the second eight minutes of the first half.
The second quarter saw the Lady Lions take total control of the contest jumping out to a 33-18 lead at the halftime break.
Gravette went to work on the Lincoln offensive game plan during the third quarter essentially shutting down any kind of shot, field goals, free throws or 3-pointers. Lincoln never scored and the quarter ended with the Lady Lions firmly in control leading 47-18.
Although Lincoln managed to get its offensive back on track in the final eight minutes of the contest the Lady Lions were too far ahead, dashing the Lady Wolves' hope of catching up and winning the game. Gravette claimed the win 63-33 over the Lady Wolves.
Leading the scoring drive for the Lady Lions was Kaylan Chilton with 23 points followed by Lizzy Ellis and Shylee Morrison each with 12. Gabbi Scott contributed five to the offensive effort while teammates, Abigail Beranek had four, Austyn Russell with three and Addison Fitts with two.
Leading the Lady Wolves was Abigail Goldman with 14, followed by Robin Kirk with 10.
