I'm having trouble, like I've never had before, with "time saving." With the days so dreary and dark, and that extra hour of dark, my biological clock says, "Take another nap."

We probably just barely missed a major storm last Saturday. We had just received about two inches of rain when "The Wind" blew in, all day. If the rain and wind had come at the same time, it could have been really bad.

On the bright side, late Saturday, I was surprised with a visit with granddaughter Megan and Chris Luttrell and their children. Talk about brightening up my day! They have been busy, re-doing their house, and hadn't visited since Christmas, but little two-year-old Brynlee ran to me with open arms, for a big hug. She tries to do everything her brothers do, and usually succeeds.

To start my week off just right, great-grandson Mikey Roy, came for a visit. He graduates from high school this year, (is that possible?) and he shared his plans for college and upcoming jobs.

After missing a couple of meetings because of bad weather, the recipe exchange group met Monday afternoon with six present. A variety of ideas were discussed and several recipe books, were enjoyed, with recipes copied for later use. The group hopes to have a cookbook published before the Apple Festival. For next meeting, members are asked to bring a copy of an "old-fashioned" recipe.

It has been decided to have the annual Lincoln School Alumni meeting on July 14 this year. We'll remind you later.

Happy birthday to Hudson Cheatham, Mary Newberry, Mary Lauren Bradley, Carol Meyer, Elmer Williams, Richard Watson, Sam King, Seth Latta, Paul Brakebill, Lesley Pinkerton, Wesley Pinkerton, Jack Batson, David Hannah.
