A Message On Going To The Nations

Gideons representative Gary Davis brought the morning message at the Sugar Hill Church on Sunday, and it went along with the Sunday School lesson, about Jesus sending His disciples to "teach all nations," which is also the aim of Gideons. It is sad that our "laws" won't let these workers personally present the Bible to people. They lay them out and individuals can then take one.

After the sermon, Alyssa Reed handed out a scroll to each mother present. The scroll was held by a beaded circle, and gave the invitation to a Mother's Day tea in the fellowship hall. There was also a flower of choice for each one. Really nice. Our thanks to Alyssa and two of her little class members, Amanda and Gracie, for their thoughtfulness.

Reminder -- The second Sunday in May is decorations at Bethlehem, Bethesda and Vineyard cemeteries. As one faithful donor to our Beaty cemetery asked me to also remind that people need to help on the upkeep and maintenance. It is costly.

The Lincoln Alumni planning meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 30, was postponed due to the threatening weather. Check for a later date. As I sit here trying to write, the thunder is popping and rolling, and more is forecast for two or three more days. No one needs to be reminded that the grass keeps growing. The bright side, that makes for a good hay crop if it keeps it up.
