PRAIRIE GROVE -- Prairie Grove's softball record stands at 1-3 with the season suspended in wake of a national crisis and efforts implemented to protect the health of student-athletes.

Prairie Grove 11, Springdale 7

Prairie Grove scored 7 runs in the top of the fifth inning and added 3 more in the sixth to earn an 11-7 nonconference win at Springdale Thursday, March 12. The win stopped a 3-game skid giving the Lady Tigers (1-3) their first win of the season. Springdale earned 6 of its runs on 10 hits, all of which were singles except for Victoria Hennarichs' double. Prairie Grove pounded out 20 hits against Springdale starter, Madeleine Downing, who went the distance allowing 2 walks and striking out 3.

Fayetteville 15, Prairie Grove 10

Senior Sydney Lowery smashed a double in her only plate appearance driving in 3 runs and sophomore Alex Torres doubled twice producing 2 RBIs, but the Lady Purple Dogs used 5 runs in the bottom of the fourth to nearly overtake Prairie Grove, which held a 7-1 lead in the top of the inning on March 3.

Prairie Grove answered with 3 runs in the top of the fifth inning to maintain a 10-6 lead before Fayetteville rallied for the win with 9 runs in the bottom of the sixth. Fayetteville's Clara Arnold was 2-for-2 with a grand slam and 5 RBIs. Sadie Baxter and Karlee Stonesifer added 2 hits apiece. Stonesipher had 2 RBIs and scored once. Baxter added an RBI and scored a pair of runs.

Makinsey Parnell went 2-for-3 scoring twice for Prairie Grove.
