PEA RIDGE -- Farmington lost both the junior varsity as well as varsity volleyball matches Thursday during 4A-1 Conference action at Pea Ridge.
The Lady Blackhawks won the JV Match in two straight sets,25-22, 25-19, to take the best of three match, then did the same thing in a best of five varsity match dealing out a 25-19, 25-21, 25-22 loss to Farmington.
In the JV 25-22, 25-19 win, Maddie Peterson led the Lady Blackhawks with 5 kills and Natalie Graham served up 3 aces.
In the varsity match, Farmington fought hard and forced several ties, but could not win any of the sets -- although they were all close especially after Pea Ridge took game one, 25-19. The next two sets went 25-21, and 25-22 with both ending in losses for the Lady Cardinals. Josey Goldberg pounded 15 kills and Gracie Easterling contributed 2 aces for Pea Ridge on Thursday, Oct. 8.
After hosting Berryville Tuesday, Farmington wraps up conference play at home Thursday against Harrison. The Lady Cardinals came into the week 6-7 overall and 6-5 in conference.
