Jubiliant Feet 5K Run
On Labor Day, Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park is the site for the Jubliant Feet 5 kilometer trail run/walk and 1 mile fun run/walk. The event begins at 7:30 a.m. with the second race slotted for a 10:30 a.m. start. Entry fee is $30 and all proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation of the Mid-South, granting wishes for children in Northwest Arkansas. SPRINGDALE
NWA Battle Football Tryout
The Northwest Arkansas Battle franchise, which play their home games on Lincoln's old football field are having a Men's Football Combine on Saturday Aug. 16. Open registration begins at 5 p.m. and tryouts start at 6 p.m. The event will be conducted at the Jones Center for Families, 922 East Emma Ave. in Springdale.
Fields are located at the corner of East Huntsville Ave. and South Old Missouri Road.
All athletes must be 18 years or older and will be tested in 40-yard time, bench press, vertical jump and individual position drills. Athletes are asked to wear cleats, gloves are optional and prior football experience is required.
