John T. Babb

John Tack Babb, age 75, of Versailles, Ill., passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care in Mt. Sterling.

He was born Dec. 27, 1939, in Lincoln, Ark., the son of John Tandy and Alma Vivian Comstock Babb. He married Beth Ellen Watson on Oct. 13, 1960, in Lincoln and she survives.

He served as an educator, administrator and coach for over 20 years in Arkansas, Missouri and Illinois and was honored to have been able to assist so many students during his career. He also served as the Vice President of the Brown County State Bank in Mt. Sterling for several years.

He graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Ark., with the class of 1956 and then received his Bachelor of Science Degree, Master of Education Administration Degree and Education Specialist Degree all from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.

He served his country in the United States Army from 1961 until 1963 having obtained the rank of First Lieutenant. He then served for several years in the Army reserves.

He was a devoted member of the Versailles Christian Church for over 50 years having served his church in many capacities, including as Elder.

He was a charter member of the Versailles Lions Club. He also enjoyed gardening, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and he especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's many activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret Ann Babb, in infancy.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beth Babb of Versailles; three sons, Chris Babb (Jodi) of Springfield, Ill., Mike Babb (Chris) of Mt. Sterling and Nathaniel Mark Babb (Michelle) of Jacksonville, Ill.; six grandchildren, Jordan Babb (Rachel) of Bloomington, Ill., Jillian Taylor Moore (Gregory) of Los Angeles, Calif., Jami Schuwerk (Steve) of Mt. Sterling, Josh Babb (Carly) of Mt. Sterling, Molly Babb of Mt. Sterling and Caleb Babb of Jacksonville; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, in the Versailles West Side Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Gadberry officiating. A military service was conducted at the graveside by the Mt. Sterling American Legion Post #374.

Theodore "Ted" Farris

Theodore 'Ted' Farris, 84, of Cane Hill, Ark., passed away Nov. 13, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 8, 1931, in Tontitown, Ark., the son of William Carl and Macy Danner Farris.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ed and Albert; two sisters, Margaret and Beatrice; and one great-grandson, Tanner Jacob Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Jane Farris; five sons, John Wilhite (Rhonda) and Leon Farris (Tiffany) of Evansville, Ark., Tommy Farris (Carolyn), Tracy Farris (Brigette) and Tony Farris all of Springdale, Ark.; grandson, Mason Farris (Tamara) of Cane Hill; six daughters, Laura Hofmann (Don) of Jonesboro, Ark., Christie Chu (Keanee) of Concord, Calif., Terry Hernandez (Polo) of Cane Hill, Teresa Bond (Thomas) of Prairie Grove, Ark., Rebecca Marlow (Robbie) of Colcord, Okla., and Mary Patton (Gary) of Cane Hill; one brother, Jack Farris (Joyce) of Springdale; two sisters, Anne Wood (Herbert) of Boise City, Okla., and Mary Angel of Lakin, Kan.; 26 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at Liberty Baptist Church in Dutch Mills, Ark., with burial in Bethesda Cemetery.

Brittany Michael Jermier

Brittany Michael Jermier, 30, of San Diego, Calif., passed away Sept. 19, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born Dec. 10, 1984, at Fayetteville, Ark., the daughter of Patricia and Daniel M. Jermier Kilpatrick.

Brittany was an Air Force Veteran.

Survivors include her mother, Patricia Jermier of Prairie Grove, Ark., and her father Daniel Jermier of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Brandon Knight of Prairie Grove.

In lieu of flowers donation of time or money may be made to any animal shelter in Brittany's name.

Mary Katherine "Kathy" Leahy

Mary Katherine "Kathy" Leahy, 74, Springdale, Ark., passed away Nov. 13, 2015, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born April 27, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Lyon Clifford "L.C." and Teenie Kathryn Curtis Cline.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first and second husbands, Johnny Ravoe Brown and Donald Eugene Leahy; her daughter, Lisa Gail Brown; one sister, Leona Jean Starr; one brother, Glen Cline; and one great-granddaughter, Isabelle Marie Lawless.

She is survived by her four children, Mary Celeste Brown Jenkins of Fayetteville, Ark., Johnny Ray Brown and wife Roxann of Prairie Grove, Ark., Lori Brown Whillock of Gentry, Ark., and Clifford Charles Brown and wife Stacey of Prairie Grove; two sisters, Brenda Cline Gordon and husband Ben of Prairie Grove, Shirley Cline Goodwin and husband Tommy of West Fork, Ark.; one brother, Lynn Clifton Cline and wife Dianne of Watauga, Texas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at First Baptist Church in West Fork.

Loyd Lavern Stout

Loyd Lavern Stout, 84, of Lincoln, Ark., passed away Nov. 13, 2015, at Veterans Home in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born June 15, 1931, in Fayetteville, Ark., the son of Claude and Rachel Guiest Stout.

He served in the United States Navy in Korea from 1950-1954. He drove a truck for over 35 years and was known from coast to coast as "Big Bo."

Survivors include his wife, Peggie Stout; four sons, Christopher Stout and wife Lisa of Morrow, Ark., Raymond Stout and Thomas Stout both of San Diego, Calif., and Roy McCrory of Jackson, Miss.; five daughters, Sandra McCrory of Louisville, Ky., Claudia Stout, Kelley Stout and Lorretta Crowell all of San Diego and Lisa Till of Pelahatchie, Miss.; one sister, Hazel Hardin of Pleasant Plains, Ark.; 12 grandchildren including Gracee Jo Stout and Jodee Belle Stout.

Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at the National Cemetery Pavilion in Fayetteville.
