Arvest Schedules Festive Local Donations

Arvest Bank in Prairie Grove, Farmington, West Fork and Lincoln is participating in three festive activities for our neighbors during the week before Christmas. All year, associates have donated money in order to wear jeans on Friday each week. This week, those funds will be used to make the holiday a little brighter for some residents.

First, Arvest Bank associates have gathered gift items and will be assembling them into Christmas bags for delivery to local residents in need. That yearlong fundraiser allowed Arvest to buy the gifts, enough this year for 175 bags, so individuals who might be alone or lack the ability or transportation to get out of their homes will receive a present for Christmas. Arvest works with the local senior centers to determine the list for distribution throughout the four communities.

All items are gathered into the conference room at the Arvest Bank in Prairie Grove and the deputized elves (Arvest associates) will work diligently to assemble the gift bags Monday, Dec. 19, before the bags are sent with other service volunteers for delivery to the intended recipients. Deliveries are expected to last through Dec. 20.

Second, Arvest Bank representatives will be providing cookie trays for the Prairie Grove Senior Center party at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21.

And third, that same yearlong fundraiser also covers the cost of one haircut per year for residents at the Prairie Grove Health and Rehab. The center's party is at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, and residents will receive the certificates for their free haircut from Arvest volunteers. The haircuts will be provided by appointment at a later date by a local hairdresser who volunteers her services.
